| David,
Thanks for the wonderful job your crew did cleaning, edging and mulching of the flower beds. I hope I can call on you in the future. Thanks again, Jeanie C. |
Dave,
Thanks again so much. I'm very pleased with everything. Pat. B. |
| David,
Enclosed are the before and after pictures of the garden. I have a stack of pictures that were taken each night as the garden progressed. I wasn't sure if you wanted any of those. If you do, let me know and I will get them to you. Slowly I am adding to the garden. Don't panic; it isn't plants. I have put out a few garden statues and signs and am getting ready to put up solar lights. Still haven't gotten the bench. I am waiting until I find the right one. Thank you for the great work. If you get a chance send me some of your cards. I have enough friends and neighbors wanting to see the garden that I am sure I can give out a few. Thanks again, Joan K. |
Dear David,
Enclosed is the balance for the landscape work at our home. We are very pleased with the quality of the work you have done. Your crew was outstanding in many regards: they arrived punctually, worked long, physically hard hours, and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Everyone was conscientious and courteous and highly professional. We would be pleased to recommend you to others. When you have time, don't forget to send me information regarding our discussion about having you do a regular "spring" clean/mulch of the garden, followed by a mid-June/July pruning. Best regards, Lisa S. Laurel, MD |
| The Laurel Leader March 17, 2003 City briefs Two win Golden Shovels honoring landscaping. The city Beautification Committee has presented two Golden Shovel landscaping awards for August: one to resident Cecile Hall and one to businesswoman Peggy Anderson. Hall lives at 612 Prince George St. She said in the past she has had a number of hobbies, including decorating cakes, painting china, hooking rugs and sculpting pottery. But about five years ago, she said, "I decided it was time to do something different." She started turning more and more of her yard into flower beds. Her seasonal parade now includes perennials such as peonies, delphinia, primroses, black-eyed susans and lilies, and her annuals include marigolds, phlox, balsalm, zinnias and impatiens. Peggy Anderson, owner of Laurel Realty, received the award for her company's landscaping of the Food Lion on Sandy Spring Road. Laurel Realty developed the property in a partnership with the Manekin company. Anderson said the planning and maintenance of the landscaping there has been carried out by New Image Landscaping. City awarded grants from state for two of its parks. The Leo E. Wilson Community Park and Patuxent Riverfront Park will be improved with the help of two $30,000 state grants. Marty Flemion, assistant city administrator, said the funds will be used to upgrade and replace much of the playground equipment at the parks. Riverfront Park is located on the banks of the Patuxent River and is the northern boundary line for the city. It is about 23 acres. The Leo E. Wilson Community Park is 4.6 acres off Van Dusen Road near Cherry Lane. Flemion said renovations should start in early spring and be completed by late next fall. |
